Remembering Mike

Mike passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on August 23, 2026.

His wife, Kim, shared how grateful she and Mike were for the love, care, and support Mike received through OPALS 4 ALS. Knowing that our organization was able to bring some comfort and joy to Mike and his family means more to us than words can say.

In keeping with Mike’s wishes, his family asked that memorial gifts be used to support OPALS 4 ALS and other local families living with ALS.

We are incredibly grateful for their kindness and generosity. The gift made in Mike’s memory will help us continue providing services to others living with ALS — services that offer more than just pampering. They can help someone feel cared for, valued, beautiful, and connected to the person they are beyond their disease.

Mike’s life touched many people, and his family’s generosity will allow that impact to continue.

We are honored to carry a little piece of Mike forward by using his gift to bring comfort, dignity, and a sense of self to others living with ALS.
