Amy's Story Featured by The ALS Association
We are incredibly proud to share that our very own Amy was recently featured on the official social media channels of The ALS Association.
For those who may not be familiar with their widespread efforts, The ALS Association is a national organization driven by a powerful, two-part mission: to make ALS livable and, ultimately, to cure it. They work toward this goal by funding global research, advocating for critical public policy, and providing localized care and resources for families navigating an ALS diagnosis.
One of the most vital ways The ALS Association drives change is by amplifying the voices of the ALS community. Through their storytelling initiatives, they share the personal journeys of patients, caregivers, and advocates across their digital platforms and in the media. They know that statistics alone don't change the world—people do. By communicating exactly what it means to live with ALS, they build a deep, human-level understanding that generates the public support and legislative action necessary to defeat this disease.
We have always known that Amy's resilience, honesty, and spirit are inspiring, and we are thrilled that her story is now reaching a national audience to help push the fight forward.

A part of Amy’s original submission was not included but is being shared below:
"In 2025, with the support of my incredible tribe, I founded OPALS 4 ALS, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating moments of joy, comfort, and care for people living with ALS.
OPALS 4 ALS provides no-cost pampering and self-care services to individuals living with ALS throughout Wisconsin. Through this work, my hope is that every person we serve feels cared for, comforted, valued, and reminded of the beauty, dignity, and light that still exist within themselves and their lives.
The work my team and I at OPALS 4 ALS are doing is one of the most enduring accomplishments of my life. While my work here is far from finished, OPALS 4 ALS is a contribution to the ALS community that I hope to be remembered for."
